"Five Ways to Welcome Change"

Ways to Welcome Change

The architect is a man who synthesizes, but he does not yet possess the wisdom and infinite intuition of the angels, who alone are capable of building a cathedral without planning ahead.

Welcome Change

By Elizabeth Lesser

Raise your hand if you've had a crazy year with lots of changes--good, bad, or otherwise. OK! Just as I thought; we're all in this together. The most difficult change I've been dealing with is my sister's cancer diagnosis and treatment. Sitting by her bed in the oncology unit the other day, I came across words by the great Sufi master, Hazrat Inayat Khan: "Walking on the turning wheel of the earth, living under the ever-rotating sun, man expects a peaceful life."

Reading them, I had an a-ha moment--I let go of demanding that life be predictable, easy, peaceful. Such a relief! I decided to make my New Year's resolution be about welcoming change with a willing heart. If you want to join me in this, here are some helpful ways to proceed.

Expect Change

Since we live in a changing universe, expect change. Good change, difficult change, destructive change, transformative change.

Make Friends With Change

Try not to fight change. Make unconditional friendship with it, in whatever form it arrives.

Relax Into the Mystery

There is so much more to this life than we can ever understand through our tiny brains and fearful hearts.

So in times of big change, it's good to be gentle and kind and patient with yourself. And to relax. The best peacemakers are those who are at peace with themselves.

Receive Change's Message

Be still and listen deeply for the truth that is carried on its winds--information about the past, wisdom about the present, and direction for the future.

Come Alive

Join forces with the dynamic flow of life. The African-American theologian Howard Thurman said: "Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs are people who have come alive."

And so, as the old year changes into the New Year, ask what makes you come alive, and then go do it--for your own sake, and in service of the greater good.

SUCCESS IS ON YOUR SPHERE

You can start at anytime if you want to be successful.

But you have to start.

You won't accomplish anything if you wait
for all the possible objections to be overcome.
Taking a new step, uttering a new word,

is what people fear most. Don't be afraid to live.

Don't wait for things to change. Don't wait until you have more time, until you are less tired, until you get the promotion,

until you settle down, until, until, until.

Don't wait for a major event in your life to occur before you begin to live. Begin where you are.

Work where you are. The hour you are wasting now,

dreaming of some far off success, is crowded with tremendous possibilities. When you take the first step, your mind will mobilize all its forces to assist you. Once you have started, all that is within and around you will come to your assistance.

The only way to start down the road to success is to start.

"Aim High"

SUCCESS

Success - The first few steps are always the hardest but they don't have to be. After starting my business last year, my definition of success has changed from that of having money to that of having time and money to that of having a core set of qualities which ensure my success in everyday life. I have learnt a lot about myself and how I need to change myself to stay at the top and continue to keep growing. In no particular order I present my learning's.

1) Lead from Within - This is most important, to keep a calm and listen to yourself amidst all the chaos. Feel your decisions, follow you passion, it all comes from within. Start making those difficult decisions. You might not be right the first time but start believing in yourself. Get in touch with yourself and carve your path in life. Write your own script !

2) Work Smarter - Prioritize - Nothing inventive about this but implementing this takes time. Write down all things you want to do and then prioritize it. I find the ABCDE method of prioritization very useful. Once you prioritize then make sure you focus all your energy towards the task at hand until it is complete.

3) Step Up and Push back - Often times you will be surrounded by people/situations which demand your attention on more than one thing at the same time. You have to realize you cannot please everybody. So just step up, prioritize your work and push back the rest without hesitation, fear or guilt. It is what it is !

4) Be Autonomous - self-governing; independent; Not controlled by others or by outside forces;Independent in mind/judgment; self-directed. Your ability to think for yourself is the single most ability which will get you ahead of the herd. So plan and execute with certainty and faith in your autonomous power.

5) Take ownership of task at hand - This is very important for your reputation. Every task you do should speak volumes about you. Do not try to do great things but to do small things greatly and you will become great. If you have been assigned a task then make sure that it is completed and is full proof. What i mean by full proof is test it inside out from every angle. Cover every scenario the solution can be used in and it still is durable and usable and performs well. Do this with every task at hand and you will be an unstoppable force.

6) Get disciplined - This is again something we all know but it takes time. Bring yourself to a state of order and obedience by practicing training and control. Learn to make the will stronger than the brain. Respect your word to yourself. 6:00 AM means 6:00 AM. No snooze. Decide a time and get up. If you make a promise to yourself respect it and then reward yourself for keeping it. You will develop enormous trust in yourself if you practice this.

7) Shut up and Listen - Listen ! Listen ! and then Listen some more !! There is a reason god has given us two ears and one mouth. Read a lot and listen a lot. Listen to your team and people around you but do what you decide. But it is very important to listen to others as it shows you respect them and consider them important. Also it gives you insight into something you did not know or thought that you knew.

8) Develop consistent work ethics and results - This again comes from discipline. If you decide to start working at 8:00AM then stick to it everyday. Consistent hard work will lead to consistent success. You will have more time to enjoy things you want to do and your life output will increase. You will be living more fulfilled in the same amount of time.

9) Have love for things around you but have more courage - This comes from my spiritual roots but it is very practical. Love things and people around you and be a fun person but have the courage and be strong to speak your mind even if people around you do not agree with you. Have the courage to go against the tide if you believe you are doing the right thing.

10) Focus on growth and results - Always focus on the solution. Plan your growth and track your success. Every time you feel down, look at your success tracks and you will be amazed as to how successful and powerful you are ! Be optimistic and strive for a solution !

11)See the reality, not the illusion of desires - Accept and see things for what they are. It is good to think big and dream bigger but you cannot achieve anything unless you happily accept you present situation and your weaknesses for what they are. Only then can you make your dreams real, by slowly aligning them with reality. Ex: If you get an interview for your dream job, do not lose your cool and start dreaming about all the money you will make and all the things you will buy. See it for what it is, an interview. Prepare for it and celebrate when you get the job. Focus on reality !

12) Be Grateful - for everything you have and you are. Each moment and every stressful situation is a blessing to be grateful for as it will make you a stronger person when you are through it. I am grateful for enjoying the sunrise on the lake while taking the morning train to work sometimes, every time I am stuck in traffic i realize it is time to slow down and be thankful for it. Really its the small things that make a big difference.

13) Be Organized - You don't have to be over the top and get the most fancy tool under the sun to be organized. Keep it simple. Pen and paper and a simple schedule. I use G! Calendar and iGoogle as it is the first thing i see every morning.

14) Get centered - Meditate and get in touch with yourself. Every now and then you will get lost and will need to get centered to find happiness and fulfillment. This is very important to stay calm and centered and to lead from within.

15) Clarity is power - Know what you want and then execute with single minded intensity. Focus on doing one thing for 20 days before you start scattering your energies. Power comes from focus. Do not have too many conflicting goals. YOU WILL NOT SUCCEED AT ANY.

16) Be practical - Remember the concept of circle of influence from 7 Habits of Highly effective people. Do not be bothered by outside events beyond your control. Be practical and stay focused.

17) Put yourself first and heckle for what you deserve - be selfish. If you want to be a winner and do good then there will be times when you will need to fight for your right to be first. Remember the small kid on the playground who always used to put a hell of a fight to the bully, after a few times the bully used to pick on other kids as he does not want to go through this trouble every time. Be that fighter who refuses to get pushed around.

18) Be in the present - Awareness of the moment is probably the single most factor which can change your life. Focus on the task at hand and do the best in the moment. You simple awareness of the moment and things around you will make you forget your worries and tension.

19) Feel good - Feeling good is the key to looking younger and living longer. If you are tired of your day then take a break. The key is to make the brain feel great. Train your brain. Change your negative self talk. You are better than you think you are. You are more attractive than you think you are. Go and get what you want, the world is yours.

20) No expectations - Do the best job you can and enjoy the process rather than worrying about the result. No pressure. Great success will come your way if you can live in a state of detachment from the fruit of your action

21)Be non-judge mental - Do not judge things/people around you. The less you judge the less the brain is focused on the negative. In work situations feel free to evaluate a product and give your opinion but refrain from judging people. When you judge you unknowingly focus on negative and I am better than you. Stop it, it will only hurt you.

22) ACT!! ACT !! ACT !! - Action is very important. All the above will be of no use if you do not apply it. Don't be afraid of failure or disappointing others. As Tim Ferris says in the Four Hour Work Week,"Its easier to ask for forgiveness than permission". So go out there and be bold and ACT !! By the time you make a mistake you will have enough people supporting you that they you will not be stopped.

These rules have served me well but every now and then I stray from the path. I would love to hear your comments.

Perfection is A Goal, Not a Reality

...is A Goal, Not a Reality

Sometimes you may think that you need to be perfect that you cannot make mistakes.

At these times you put so much pressure on yourself.

Try to realize that you are like everyone else-- capable of reaching great potential but not capable of being perfect.

Just do your best and realize that this is not enough.

Don't compare yourself to anyone

Be happy to be the wonderful unique, very special person that you are.

Indigenous Science: Collaboration

Collaboration is a many splendor things. It can be the best experience, and at the same time the worst. Collaboration is working together to meet some goal, make something happen, sharing communications in an altruistic manner. Collaboration is a hard thing to do, because not all of us will ask for/accept help. I wrote before that the Creator has given us all some special ability, but I think the ability given the most and used the least is the gift of communication. We can talk to one another, and through that activity gain insights on what another's thoughts are. Some people use this to benefit themselves. Some use it only enough to get through the day, with minimal interaction with others and all the nature around them. Can we communicate and collaborate with nature? I guess it depends on what you hear when the earth talks to you. Does the farmer or rancher keep using the land when he knows it needs to lay fallow? Good farmers let the earth rest, or use practices that minimize the effects of plowing and overgrazing.

Here in Western MT some places have only the thinnest of usable soils available, and if you drive your ATV over it much, the vegetative supporting layer is destroyed. Continued use makes ruts and eventually gullys, ruining more land.
Is this collaboration? Probably not, unless you confine the road use to existing roadways. then eventually the roadways limit use when natural processes make road use impossible. I collaborate with several people, and am always looking for new collaborators. But the process is time consuming and a little tricky. I started working with 2 ladies in a nearby city, and for about a year I went to their office and visited them, and had them come to my office. I feel that because of the investment I have made, that if they need to make a decision for me in a snap, they can, and for the most part I'm pretty comfortable with what is decided. If I need something from them, I'm comfortable with asking almost anything, because they worked towards the collaborative understanding as hard as I did. In essence the collaboration was forged. Look up a definition of forge and you find that it has some difficulty involved, from hammering metal, concerted efforts, trying to get ahead, any number of things related to making something. Even the negative, as in making a counterfeit, would involve an investment in time and resources to occur.

A
nyone who says collaborations are easy doesn't really know what it is all about, then,do they? To collaborate with Native people, greet them to begin with. The next thing is to set aside an extended time to really gain an appreciation for the culture, philosophy and personal relationships they have.
Extended family and external forces are a constant with most of us, because we have familial responsibilities that are poorly understood by the west. A western person might have that weird uncle or auntie you only see at family reunions or gatherings and a native probably has one living with them, or sees that person on a day-to day basis. And, we care about and for that person, and feel we have to, all because of these family ties. Where the West would put someone in an institution (or nursing home etc...) , natives as a general feel they must take care of that person. Family duty or honor. We revere the elderly, because of what they know. This understanding is the hardest to explain, because there is no "typical" native family. Collaboration takes work, and when successful is a joy to the heart. If you decide to collaborate, spend the needed time to get to know your partners, you'll be glad you did.

"Just do it"

THE ISSUE IN LIFE IS NOT HOW LONG YOU START BUT HOW WELL YOU FINISH!

Do you know of people who seem to fail all the time? I mean, giving them an assignment, telling them to work on a project. Giving them all the incentives they need, assist them in every aspect of their work. In fact, what we are doing for them would seem like we we're
doing the entire thing ourselves! Spoon feeding but yet! the person still can't finish the job.

The answer is right in front of us. No need to wonder since for most people failed is because they simply go through a habit of leaving work undone. Great start, maybe, but they don't make it to the finish line. This is the reason why they fail. Not because they're dumb, and not because they're deprived of opportunity, but because they begin something but leave it hanging midway through. These kind of people use to it. And if we honestly say that we're one of them then its time for ourselves the whole thing should be put to an end.

According to William James " nothing is fatiguing, as the hanging on of an uncompleted task "

There are people who never seem to finish anything. They always start things but they never finish. They're always on to something else before anything is completed. This problem is not hormonal, emotional or even biological. This is simply a behavioral problem.

A positive affirmations are needed in order to make a person complete something he has started out to do. The problem with this is that it makes good writing and it sounds good, too, but it will never work.

Learn the lessons, and put them into actual application, live them practically in our lives. And one benefit we have is that the Source of power, the Creator of the heavens and the earth is the same God who will be faithful to complete what He has started with us. Christ alone, is the Author and Perfector of our faith. . . Just Do It!

10 Ways How Passion Can Turbocharge the Law of Attraction

Like all laws, there is always a fundamental truth and in the Law of Attraction, it is Passion. If you want the Law of Attraction to work in your life, you need to approach it with passion and intensity. Do you believe it?

Here are 10 reasons why passionate people are able to fuel the Law of Attraction in their lives are:

1) Passion Flames Focused Action.Action takers create results but not all results are positive ones. But doing anything is better than doing nothing at all because all actions bridges the gulf between the spiritual and the physical realms. Focused actions means focused energy and activity, resulting in turgocharged results.

2) Passion Fuels Our Desired OutcomesA lack of passion results in a lack of ambition and desire to achieve optimum results. But when we do something with passion, our results are almost guaranteed to be excellent.

3) Passion Opens The Floodgates of Creative InspirationHaven't you experienced this before. When you are passionate and excited about something, your mind becomes like a creative force that cannot be stopped. You develop one amazing idea after another. But when you are lackadaisical about something, nothing creative comes to mind no matter how much time you spend on it. Like resonance, passion is a higher frequency vibration that will attract more high-frequency vibrations " like creativity and ingenuity. And when the two frequencies are in harmony, you get extreme results!

4) Passion Turbocharges Your ResultsWhether youre focused on increasing your financial abundance or creating a work of art, your strong flames of passion and emotion will usually propel your results so that you achieve what you want more quickly that you would ordinarily.

5) Passion Inspires Clear Vision On The Way AheadLife is full of choices and that includes the paths we take. No one path is correct or wrong but some paths are more difficult to tread on than others. Passion helps us to choose the right path by giving us greater clarity and insight because of its importance and meaning to us.

6) Passion Keeps You Firmly In The PresentA nature of a passionate person is that they are completely immersed in what they are doing at the moment. They do not worry about the future or dwell in the past. Look at any athlete, they live for the moment they are playing. Nothing else matters. Not the past or future games. It is the next point. Not the end score. So if we can learn to focus on our current activities, we will enjoy them more and achieve more.

7) Passion - An Escape from ComplaintsPassion shifts our attention to focus better on what we do want instead of complaining and being unhappy about what we do not want. When we indulge in our passion, we will have less time to focus on what we do not have - the unhappy and negative things. And we start attracting more of the positive things!

8) Passion Means No FearPassion fills you with an adrenaline rush that blocks out all fears and resistance. Instead of anxieties, passion drives you forward and enables you to do things you never could have done.

9) Passion Extends EnduranceJust consider. How often do we spend hours and hours on what we are passionate about and still feel that time has flown right by? Working on the car, waiting for the prize catch. We easily get lost in it willingly and because of that, we accomplish much more that what we would have otherwise. This This can also create more expansive results than you would otherwise receive.

10) Passion Begets PassionThe more we invest in our passion, the greater our passion. It is like love or any other emotion. The more we love, the more we are loved. The more we give, the more we receive. Passion begets passion and the flames will spread quickly and you will burn even brighter!

The Law of Attraction speaks about the vibrations you emit to the universe. If you emit strong emotions, like your passion, it will eventually return to you in the same or similar form. So if you want to reap what you sow, make sure your infuse whatever you do with passion and energy and just marvel when this creates a circle of love, joy and abundance in your life!

Impossible is Just a Word

Everyone, at some point of his or her life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big. Who hasn't fantasized about being the one who hits the game-winning homer? Who hasn't dreamed of being the homecoming queen? And how many times have we dreamed of being rich, or successful, or happy with our relationships?Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirations. Unfortunately, our dreams remain just that – dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic.

This is a sad turn of events in our life. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self actualization, we get caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day just barely existing.

But you know what? Life could be so much better, if only we learned to aim higher.

The most common problem to setting goals is the word impossible. Most people get hung up thinking I can't do this. It's too hard. It's too impossible. No one can do this.

However, if everyone thought that, there would be no inventions, no innovations, and no breakthroughs in human accomplishment.Remember that scientists were baffled when they took a look at the humble bumblebee.

Theoretically, they said, it was impossible for the bumblebee to fly. Unfortunately for the bumble, bee no one has told it so. So fly it does.

On the other hand, some people suffer from dreaming totally outrageous dreams and not acting on them.

The result? Broken dreams, and tattered aspirations. If you limit yourself with self-doubt, and self-limiting assumptions, you will never be able to break past what you deem impossible.

If you reach too far out into the sky without working towards your goal, you will find yourself clinging on to the impossible dream.

Try this exercise. Take a piece of paper and write down some goals in your life.

Under one header, list down things ‘you know you can do’.

Under another header, write the things ‘you might be able to do.’

And under one more, list the things that that are ‘impossible for you to do.’

Now look at all the headers strive every day to accomplish the goals that are under things ‘you know you can do’.

Check them when you are able to accomplish them. As you slowly are able to check all of your goals under that heading, try accomplishing the goals under the other header-the one that reads ‘you might be able to do.’As of the items you wrote under things I could do are accomplished, you can move the goals that are under things that are ‘impossible for you to do’ to the list of things ‘you might be able to do.’As you iterate through this process, you will find out that the goals you thought were impossible become easier to accomplish.

And the impossible begin to seem possible after all.

You see, the technique here is not to limit your imagination.

It is to aim high, and start working towards that goal little by little.

However, it also is unwise to set a goal that is truly unrealistic.

Those who just dream towards a goal without working hard end up disappointed and disillusioned. On the other hand, if you told someone a hundred years ago that it was possible for man to be on the moon, they would laugh at you.

If you had told them that you could send mail from here to the other side of the world in a few seconds, they would say you were out of your mind. But, through sheer desire and perseverance, these impossible dreams are now realities.

Thomas Edison once said that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.

Nothing could be truer. For one to accomplish his or her dreams, there has to be had work and discipline. But take note that that 1% has to be a think-big dream, and not some easily accomplished one.Ask any gym rat and he or she will tell you that there can be no gains unless you are put out of your comfort zone.

Remember the saying, “No pain, no gain”?

That is as true as it can be.So dream on, friend! Don’t get caught up with your perceived limitations.

Think big and work hard to attain those dreams. As you step up the ladder of progress, you will just about find out that the impossible has just become a little bit more possible.
