"The World Of Dating"

ABOUT DATING
Dating is any social activity performed as a pair or even a group with the aim of each assessing the other's suitability as their partner in an intimate relationship or as a spouse. The word refers to the act of agreeing on a time and "date" when a pair can meet and engage in some social activity. In many cultural traditions, dates are arranged by a third party, who may be a family member, an acquaintance, or a dedicated matchmaker.

Recently matchmaking services have become popular. Although dating rules in Western popular culture have become more relaxed during the 20th century, there is considerable variation between individuals' values. For example, when the activity costs money, it has traditionally been the man's role to pay (which naturally causes a problem for same-sex couples on a date); in recent times the practice of "going Dutch" (splitting the expenses) has emerged.

Traditional dating activities include sharing entertainment or a meal. In general, a person may date many different partners during the same time period in order to have the best chance of finding their most suitable available mate.

Types of dates

Regular date: a couple meet for an activity. Double date: two couples meet for an activity. Group dating: an activity shared by two or more couples. Blind date: a date where the participants have not met each other personally before (although may have seen each other's pictures); usually set up by a third party or an internet dating service. Long Distance / Holidating: Due to a long distance relationship, dating only when one, or both parties are on holiday or vacation and are together during that time period.

Systems for organizing dates

Online dating:

Instead of using a traditional matchmaker, online dating uses specifically targeted websites to meet new people.

Speed dating:

Where a group of people get together for several hours in a public place to get to know one another better. At one of these speed dating events, each person usually sits with another single member for a set period of time to get to know them better, and then at the predetermined time is asked to move and sit with someone else to repeat the process.

Mobile dating/cell phone dating:

Where text messages to and from a mobile/cell phone carrier are used to show interest in others on the system. Can be web-based or online dating as well depending on the company.

Virtual dating:

A combination of video game playing and dating, where users create avatars and spend time in virtual worlds in an attempt to meet other avatars with the purpose of meeting for potential dates.

Singles events:

Where a group of singles are brought together to take part in various events for the purposes of meeting new people. Events can include such things as parties, workshops and games.

Religious

Christian Courtship

This article has been nominated to be checked for its neutrality.Discussion of this nomination can be found on the talk page. (June 2Biblical courtship Christian courtship is a system practiced by some

Christian families where two people figure out if they are to get married without modern dating practices.

Christians who participate in courtship generally believe dating is a means of impersonally "trying someone out" before building a more significant and meaningful relationship. There is an absence of sexual activities, or at the very least an honest attempt to avoid them. On rare occasions some may even refrain from kissing until their wedding day if their convictions lead them to do so.

The courtship is a period of time where the couple build a strong friendship along with the romantic relationship resulting in a strong, non-sexual intimacy between the two. The hope is to set a strong foundation (along with a true faith in God) for a life-long marriage. It is not a chaperoned time, although many may believe it to be.

JewishMain articles:

Jewish view of marriage and shidduch Orthodox Jewish men and women usually meet through matchmakers in a process called a shidduch, for the purpose of marriage.

When Jewish men and women come of marriageable age, their parents usually turn to a matchmaker to help them find an appropriate mate for their children. With the advice of the matchmaker and the consent of the parents the young man and woman meet on a date. If they like each other they continue dating over the course of a few weeks. The decision to marry is made by the couple themselves. Usually the groom is no more than 5 years older than the bride. Marriage age ranges from 17-25, with 18-22 considered the norm.

"About Online Dating"

“Why I liked her profile”

What makes a profile “pop”? No doubt men are visual creatures so a good photo will probably help a woman get online attention. But beyond that, what are guys really looking for? To help get you the info you need, we asked some men who’d had successful online-dating experiences this question: What caught your cyber-eye? ‘Her photo and profile were in sync’“There were lots of things about Angie that I found intriguing but the first thing that caught my eye was her totally zany photo. She had a bright red wig and was screaming into the camera like a 70s punk-rock star… I guess I like it spicy. And her written profile was very short and self-deprecating. I enjoyed that she didn’t take herself too seriously. When I met her, she was exactly ‘as advertised’ which is the key point here. For a woman’s profile to work, the picture has to match the profile which has to match reality.” —Patrick, 38, Cambridge, MA

Lesson Learned: Men like truth in advertising. So, they want to know what they see is what they’re going to get. Keep that in mind when creating your profile/posting your photos. This is your chance to show who you are, not who you think guys might like. If you’re seeking a serious match, try to make your profile represent the person they’ll meet on that first coffee date. It’ll get you further than pretending to be kooky when you’re bookish, posting a photo that showed you 20 pounds thinner or saying you like to golf when you don’t know a driver from a wedge. ‘She was talking to me’“I was attracted to so many things about Patricia, but the one thing I really remember liking the most about her profile was that it was very conversational and didn’t come across as a ‘sales pitch’ for why I should date her. Instead I felt like there was a real person on the other end of her profile, and her warmth was evident from her words. We’ve now been married for three years.” —Josh, 60, New York, NY
Lesson Learned: Men are more likely to be intrigued if they can think of you as a real, live human being on the other end of—well, their wireless connection. So instead of just listing your attributes and achievements like a resume, talk to the guys out there instead! “Write your profile in a tone that you’d use with a new friend or picture yourself sitting down to coffee and describing yourself to someone, then write from there,” says Cherie Burbach, who not only met her husband online but wrote about it in At The Coffee Shop. “The key is to give enough description that someone reading your profile can picture a date with you and all the fun you’ll have.” ‘She and I had a ton of things in common’“I’m very athletic so it was a priority for me to find someone who could keep up with my energetic pace. I responded to my now girlfriend’s profile because she was also clearly active—she mentioned rollerblading, dancing, yoga, swimming, weights at the gym and ‘highly competitive’ all within the context of her profile. She also said that ‘working out was like brushing her teeth’—she does it every day. Knowing we had that in common seemed like a good start. Now that we’re dating, we even go to the gym together.” —Matt, 38, New York, NY
Lesson Learned: Guys are looking for a “partner in crime.” They want someone they can do things with. So while it’s great if you want to mention that you like to knit and go to the ballet, be sure your profile also lists some more guy-friendly activities that you truly enjoy. Think sporting events, hip restaurants, movies… but remember that honesty is key. Once he realizes you have things in common, he’ll be encouraged to write because he can envision you engaging in your mutual interests… together. ‘She was self-assured’“Aside from the fact that she used the word ‘albeit’ in her profile and I’m a sucker for a good vocabulary, all I remember about Tina Marie’s profile is that she wrote ‘I'm attractive. Are you?’ You have to be pretty confident to make that statement, so I was intrigued. I sent her a photo of myself and wrote ‘I'll let you decide!’ Apparently she thought I was because we’ve been together for seven years now and happily married for four!” —David, 42, Edmonds, WA
Lesson Learned: It’s the online equivalent of “Do I look fat in this?”—men aren’t drawn to women who come across as insecure. “Men can sense neediness from miles away,” says Bev Bacon, author of Meet Me, Don’t Delete Me. “If you feel self-esteem and self-confidence are not your strong suit, do something about it!” But don’t write about it! Instead focus on the areas where you are secure, whether it’s your fashion sense, your kick-ass career or your innate ability to make people feel at home. Confidence is sexy to men! ‘She shared her values’“Even though Tina’s family lives on the other side of the country, her profile mentioned them repeatedly. I remember being impressed that someone who lived so far away from her relatives still managed to maintain such a close relationship with them. Then, she mentioned her faith as important. I could not date someone who didn’t have some kind of religion in her life and think common beliefs can be a great basis for a strong relationship so that stood out to me. We’ve been happily dating for five months!”—Anthony, 35, Wall Township, NJ
Lesson Learned: Many women shy away from mentioning family and faith when talking about themselves out of fear that they’ll seem too serious and scare men off. Not so! Many men hold the exact same values and will respond to your mentioning what really matters most to you.

"The Different PERSONAS of a Filipina"

Filipina Women has an exemptional beauty that stands out!

We can't deny the fact that in popular search engines, the keyword "Filipina" is equivalent to different dating, penpal, nude and scandalous websites. This is also one of the reasons why some people from other countries have a different perception on Filipina Women in general.

The Filipina Writing project of Janette Toral aims to clean-up the search engines by encouraging other people to write an impressive and clean entries in their blogs and hopefully, these entries would appear in the first pages of the different search engines.

I've been thinking of a unique way of writing an entry for this project. As a self-confessed TV addict, I thought of writing an entry that describes the different personas of a Filipina by the use of the popular teleserye characters in Philippine Television.

A Filipina is a Real-Life Superhero - When I say "superhero", i don't actually mean that Filipinas have invisibility powers and have skimpy outfits to wear everyday. A real-life superhero is someone who can perform their duties well and are responsible enough to know what is the right thing to do. The characters Angel Locsin performed in the past reflects the persona of a real-life Filipina like in Darna, where she's willing to sacrifice her personal happiness just to serve other people. We have lots of "Darnas" out there like a Filipina Mom!

A Filipina is a loyal wife and a good mother- The Filipino version of Marimar portrayed by Marian Rivera is deeply in love with her husband, Sergio. Her innocence and pretty smile can brighten up any person's day. She is willing to do anything and everything to save her marraige and support her own family. Sunshine Dizon's character as Bakekang is someone who took good care of her daughters and did everything just to give them the best things life can offer.

A Filipina is Talented - Just take the characters portrayed by Rica Peralejo, Maja Salvador and Sarah Geronimo at the TV Show "Pangarap na Bituin". A Filipina can either sing, dance, act or do other creative stuff. Want some proof? Lea Salonga is a well-known Filipina stage actress. Nicole of The Pussycat Dolls and Vanessa Hudgens of the High School Musical are proud to be Pinay. Christine Gambito of HappySlip, a popular Youtube director is also a Filipina! Talk about world-class Pinay!

A Filipina prioritizes her Family - The character of Roxanne Guinoo as Gillian in the Sineserye "Natutulog ba ang Diyos" gone through a lot for her family. Margarita, played by the controversial Wendy Valdez did the "kapit sa patalim" job by dancing in clubs just to support her family. Kristine Hermosa's Maningning character in Prinsesa ng Banyera is taking good care of her mom and tries to juggle her work at the pier and as a nursing student. Therefore, Filipinas are Hardworking.

A Filipina is Undeniably Sexy - The keyword "sexy filipina" is usually used in a wrong way by some online searchers. For me, a sexy filipina knows how to carry the clothes she wears and is someone who is attractive without trying really hard. A perfect example of which is the Marimar Primera Kontrabida, Angelika, played by the Philippines' Finest, Katrina Halili. Observe the way she projects in that TV show. Another sexy pinay is Anne Curtis as Celine. She speaks her mind and she has that body to die for!

A Filipina is Simply Beautiful - Do I have to elaborate on this? I remember one of Nicole PCD's interview during their visit in the country that the reason why she stood out among the Pussycat Dolls is because of her exotic looks. It is pretty evident that her Filipina features are much stronger. Some of the pretty pinays we have on TV include Bianca King, Nadine Samonte, Yasmien Kurdi, Tanya Garcia, Angelika dela Cruz , Iza Calzado and a lot more.

A Filipina is a Hopeless Romantic - Bea Alonzo's character as Jackie in Maging Sino Ka Man can prove this. A Filipina can have all the money in the world, but you know what makes her really happy? A Prince Charming who will love her and will have a happily ever after lovestory with her. Also included are Cecilia of Sana'y Ikaw na Nga, Yna of Pangako Sayo and Via of Mula sa Puso.

"Online Dating - The Pros and the Cons"

Here's a quick exercise you can use if you're trying to figure out whether or not to get involved with online dating. Each of us has different ideas on what is important, but it sometimes helps to write things down on paper.

Pros:

  • If you're shy, online dating is a lot easier than walking up to a complete stranger.
  • The pool available online is pretty large. I'm able to chat with a lot of quality females from the privacy of my living room.
  • What a savings of time. I can talk with many different singles all at once, at a time that's convenient to me, whether it's early in the morning before work or late at night.
  • If using a paid service, you're confident that the other person communicating is single and is interested in finding another single. That's never the case in the real world.
  • The cost is relatively cheap. The monthly cost of an online membership is way cheaper than buying a woman a couple of drinks or taking a date out to a movie.
  • You actually know someone when you finally go out on a date in the real world. Getting to know them in the virtual world makes the first meeting a lot less stressful.
  • You get something accomplished each time you log on. You will have a couple of constructive discussions and a couple of leads for future sessions. Lord knows how many times I used to come home from a night out all depressed because I didn't meet anyone.
  • If you start talking to someone and it just isn't clicking, it's much easier to terminate the relationship than it is face to face.

Cons:

  • People are still somewhat embarrassed to tell friends and families they're using a dating service, let alone an online one.
  • People don't always tell the truth online, although I guess that applies to the real world as well.
  • I always feel like there are a lot more men than women on the site. I don't know if it's true or not, but that's the perception I get.
  • You get to know the personality of the person you're talking to but you don't get an idea if there's any physical chemistry between the two of you. There are a lot of people that I love talking to, but a big part of a relationship is the physical aspect.

Once you put it all down on paper, I'm sure that you'll notice the pluses far outnumber the minus. If you're on the fence about this decision, take the time to write down the pros and cons and I'm sure you'll come to a similar decision

"Be Irresistibly Attractive From Date #1"

THE POWERFUL BELIEFS INSIDE YOU THAT EITHER CREATE
ATTRACTION FOR YOU IN A MAN... OR NOT

There are certain "mindsets" that women who
are naturally successful in love have that draws
men's attention and interest.

These beliefs or "mindsets" trigger a very
powerful response in a man. It tells him that this
is a woman who is self-assured and knows what she
wants and how to get it.

These beliefs also communicate that the woman
is "higher status" and thus naturally compel a man
to think she's unique and someone worth his time
and attention.

In other words, these are the "attitudes" a
woman projects that make her irresistible to a
man.

It's what a woman is saying without actually
saying it at all. She says it with her body
language, with the way she carries herself and
the way she behaves inside a relationship.

They're BELIEFS because a woman actually
believes these to be true about herself and her
life.

The reality is that if things haven't been
working for you, and you've have some of the
same negative patterns going on in your relationships
several times... then you can't just "wing it."

At least not if you care about GROWTH and
CHANGE in your life towards something better.
(such as an amazing and lasting relationship with
a great man)

Here are just a few of these beliefs that
are at the foundation of what makes some women
IRRESISTIBLE to men, without them even having
to try:

-"I don't let a man determine what I want/will
have in my love-life."

This kind of woman won't "settle" for a man who
isn't giving her what she wants and needs,
emotionally.

-"I'd move on and leave a man before I'd let him
ruin my life."

This woman won't stay in a relationship that's
abusive, degrading or morally questionable. She
also won't put up with bad behavior from a man.
Integrity and trust are important to her, and she
lets him know that.

-"I wouldn't keep a man from doing the healthy
personal things he enjoys, or come between him and
them because of my own fears or limitations."

She knows that her man is an adult who has the
right and freedom to make his own choices - and
the more she tries to RESTRICT HIM, the less he's
going to feel open, free and empowered in being
with her and sharing his life in all aspects.

She respects his "freedom" and his need to
pursue his goals and dreams.

And that's just for starters...

I'm just skimming it
strategies and attitudes WORK
he surface of what to create intense
attraction with a man.

The kind of attraction that guarantees he's not
going to "get weird" on you when you let him know
how you're feeling, because he'll be feeling the
same way.

The kind of attraction that has a man feeling
shocked or surprised at how he's feeling about a
woman- because instead of seeing a committed
relationship as "restrictive"... he'll actually
be the one wanting the relationship to grow deeper
and lead it there.

Wouldn't it feel great to have the guy you're
so attracted to be interested in something
meaningful and "real" with you too? To where he's
the one asking you to do more things, share more
things, and wanting to know that his love for you
is reciprocated?

In my "Natural And Lasting Attraction" program
I teach you how to develop and amplify certain
qualities you ALREADY have that will make a man
want to be with you... and only you.

You'll learn the specific tips, behaviors and
strategies for building and keeping a DEEP and
intense level of ATTRACTION with a man.

Go here now to get some free tips on creating
an intense level of ATTRACTION with a man, and

Lasting Attraction" program:

12 Types Of Women You Should Date

Finding a good woman these days isn't always easy, especially in an era when the female gender is typically self-centered and "empowered" to sex-ploit the male population. Still, there are a lot of good women out there, even though it's not always easy to find them.

Here's a list of women with traits that would make any guy happy:

1- Miss Sweet
Miss Sweet is a woman who's positive, content with her life, always upbeat -- and just a blast to be around. She's a genuine person without a bitch bone in her body. She's always truly happy to see you and you find yourself looking forward to spending time with her. Miss Sweets are usually snapped up out of the dating market right away, so they're pretty rare. But if you can find one, you've got a real treasure on your hands.

2- Miss Equality
This type of woman is a true feminist -- not one of the radical man-haters, or the hypocritical pseudo-feminists who think that equality means "I demand equal rights and an equal salary, but a man still has to pay for me." The Miss Equalitys of the world genuinely like men, and understand that equality means equality across the board, from holding the door open to fighting on the front lines. They believe that a relationship should be a 50/50 partnership, and are more than willing to shoulder their half of the responsibilities and dating expenses -- just because it's the right thing to do.

3- Miss Sexual
You should be so lucky to encounter one of these! Miss Sexual loves men and loves sex -- and makes no bones about it. She's not selling it, she's not using it as a tool to manipulate men -- she just naturally craves it. Miss Sexual is not to be confused with a nymphomaniac, who suffers from psychological problems -- rather, she has somehow bypassed the female societal training of auctioning off the use of her vagina to the highest bidder. For this reason, most other women hate her, because she's giving it away free of charge. But men love her because she's a free spirit who's actually honest about her sex drive. Very rare, but worth searching the ends of the earth for.

4- Miss Best Friend
Closely aligned with Miss Sweet, Miss Best Friend is another joy to be around. She's the kind of woman you're totally in sync with -- you like the same things, watch the same TV shows, enjoy going to the same places. You can spend five minutes with her and think you've known her for years. She's always on your side, laughs at all your jokes, and calls you just to say "hi" because she genuinely misses you. She's great just to hang with. A word of warning, though -- with Miss Best Friend, you have to make your sexual interest known from day one because if she gets it into her head that you are going to be "just friends," it's almost impossible to change her mind.

5- Miss Straightforward
This is the type of woman who knows how to communicate . With Miss Straightforward, there are no games, no expecting men to be mind readers, no behavior based on ridiculous, female-biased advice from articles in Cosmo or The Rules . Miss Straightforward will pick up the phone and ask you out. She will do what she says she will do -- not say one thing and do just the opposite. Although she may be blunt at times, at least you'll know where you stand and you'll never have to spend hours trying to decode contradictory or emotion-based female behavior.

6- Miss Independent
This is a good woman to find if you don't have a lot of time to invest in a relationship or you're the type of guy who needs a lot of space. Miss Independent has a real life of her own and is happily going in her own positive direction. She's the type who wants a man in her life, but doesn't need a man in her life. And she certainly isn't looking for men to solve all her problems or blame when things don't go her way.

7- Miss Loyal
Miss Loyal will never cheat on you or constantly be on the lookout for a "better deal." When you go out, she won't be scanning the room for other guys, but will keep her attention focused on you, the man in her life. She's also more apt to stick around if times get tough.

8- Miss No Pressure
While many women are chomping at the bit to get married, Miss No Pressure hasn't fallen prey to any such agenda. She's happy just to be with you. So you don't get any, "Where is our relationship going?", or hint-dropping about the future, or window-shopping at the jewelry store. She may want to get married at some point, but she's in no hurry -- she thinks that if it happens, it will just happen naturally.

9- Miss Secure
Miss Secure accepts herself as she is and is comfortable with her good points, as well as her bad. And she feels the same about you. Miss Secure doesn't need constant attention to shore up a sagging ego, has tons of self-esteem, and is always going in her own positive direction.

10- Miss Personality
Miss Personality is a great find. She might not be up for first prize in a beauty contest (although she could be), but her intelligence, wit and sparkling presence just light up the room, and she draws people like a magnet. Her personality is so charming that it easily overcomes any deficiencies she might have in the looks department, just because she's so great to be with.

11- Miss Low Maintenance
The rarest of the rare, Miss Low Maintenance is the most atypical of modern women. She really doesn't care about how much money you have -- she just likes you for yourself and not for what she can take from you. She's likely to be a true feminist, and will gladly pay her share of the dating expenses. If you can find a Miss Low Maintenance, hang on to her for dear life!

12- Miss Right
For You A lot of guys choose women who are "arm candy" -- good-looking trophy girlfriends who bolster their status among other men or counteract their own insecurities. That's all well and good, but if you find a woman who makes you happy, regardless of looks, age or social status -- or what any other guy thinks -- then you have definitely won at the mating game.

How to Make Yourself Irresistible to the Opposite Sex

Steps

1
Step One
Appeal to all the senses. Choose clothing with soft fabrics that invite the sense of touch, wear fragrances that entice the sense of smell, speak with a sensuous voice and use words that are pleasant to hear, and maintain a well-groomed appearance that is pleasing to the eye.
2
Step Two
Maintain a positive outlook toward life. Who wants to be around a person who is full of gloom and doom?
3
Step Three
Make the most of what you have, both physically and mentally. Emphasize your best features while downplaying undesirable traits.
4
Step Four
Project confidence without intimidating others. Know and believe in yourself without being a know-it-all.
5
Step Five
Be original. Your differences from others may be the very things that make you irresistible to the opposite sex. Don't be a carbon copy of someone else.
6
Step Six
Learn how to make members of the opposite sex feel good about themselves by taking an interest in their lives and aspirations.
7
Step Seven
Leave a little something to the imagination. Don't bare all or tell all immediately. An air of mystery can create greater interest in a person.
