Forever young

The heart stays forever young
It bounds over the fields of it's youth
Where time held no boundaries
And the cares of life were nonexistent

Where each day was an adventure
Out into a bright world of promise.
We could spin our hopes and dreams
And believe they would come true.

The harsh realities of adulthood come
And pain and disappointments befall us.
With time it fades into the recesses of our forgetfulness
Where we don't have to return.

We hold our precious memories close inside our heart
And let our dreams gallop onward

Through meadows and brooks;
Soaring high above our pain.

A fountain of youth springs forth
Washing over the scars in our heart and soul....
A balm never letting the heart grow old.
